Guts ‘r’ Us.
If we are what we eat then, by logical extension, we are our guts. It’s a Captain Obvious thing to say but here goes: “everything we eat, and drink passes through the gut, so it affects everything”.
But the gut is more than a weigh station, simply waving through nutrition to other parts of the body. It’s much more!
Our guts, your gut, breaks down food, processes it, draws out nutrients, sorts the useful from the waste, disperses to our vital organs and bloodstream, creates hormones, has a direct phone line to our brains, is home to billions of vital bacteria, produces feel-good serotonin, fuels our bodies, disposes of the waste. Oh, and it’s our second brain [1].
Phew! It’s no wonder here at Supercharged Food we Love Your Gut.
Gut-related conditions
“There are an ever-increasing number of health conditions where science has directly related to the gut. Keeping a healthy gut environment, what I like to call a ‘healthy, loved gut’ is a great place to start when treating and nullifying these conditions.” Lee Holmes, clinical nutritionist and founder of Supercharged Food.

So what are these gut related conditions? In no particular order gut related illnesses can include the following:
It’s exhausting thinking of all the health conditions affected by the gut. And this isn’t even an exhaustive list! If you have any of these conditions it’s important to look after your gut health and give it some love.
What’s a ‘loved’ gut?
When we talk about a ‘loved’ gut we’re not talking six-packs and rock-hard abs. A healthy, toned gut is a description of a high functioning digestive system, one that is clean, efficient and at its prime. It’s the beneficial outcome of a loved gut. (It’s also the primary role of Supercharged Food’s Love Your Gut range. Just sayin’). Try this gut-loving vegan smoothie, here.
Target your gut
Whatever condition you may have or more generally to optimise your overall health, targeting your gut will play a crucial role.
“The health of your gut plays a key role in your overall health and well-being.” [2]
At its most basic, targeting your gut means realigning some of your nutrition, hydration and lifestyle choices to optimising your gut’s health. Your gut will do the rest.
Here are some gut-loving ideas, for you to try for gut support.
We’d also humbly suggest our Love Your Gut range become a part of your gut’s inner circle. While Love Your Gut powder and capsule purely consists of minerals (silica, magnesium, calcium, iron plus 17 other essential minerals) and Fulvic Humic concentrate consists of, well, fulvic and humic acids, their chief role is to prime your gut.
Look out!
