The silly season is upon us, and I, for one, can’t wait. A little (or a lot) of silly is just what I need. Along with the joy and festivities comes the temptation to indulge in hearty meals, late-night parties, and all-around merry-making. Twist my rubber arm!

As we gear up for the seasonal feasts, it's smart to ensure our gut is ready to handle the festivities without feeling like a stuffed turkey. In this blog, I'm here to guide you on how to supercharge your gut IQ to leave you feeling light, energized, and ready to get your silly on.

1. Pre-Party Prepping with Prebiotics and Probiotics

Before you dive into the holiday cheer, consider giving your gut a boost with prebiotics and probiotics. Probiotics are the friendly bacteria that support a healthy gut microbiome. A balanced gut microbiome can improve digestion and help your body process heavy meals more efficiently. Prebiotics are what probiotics thrive on.

Supercharged Tip: Incorporate probiotic-rich foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi into your meals leading up to the festivities. If you're on the go, check out Lee’s Love Your gut Synbiotic blend.

2. Hydration is Smart, Silly

While raising a toast is a tradition during the holidays, don't forget to hydrate! Proper hydration aids digestion and helps flush out toxins from your system.

Supercharged Tip: Between each festive beverage, alternate with a glass of water. This will not only keep you hydrated but also fill you up a bit to help prevent overindulgence. Also, supercharge your hydration by adding a few drops of Love Your Gut Fulvic Humic concentrate.

A nicer drop. Add fulvic humic into your alcohol drinks. It’s tasteless, just like your uncle.

3. Fibre-Rich Choices for Cleaning Your Gut

Include fibre-rich foods in your holiday spread. Fibre not only aids in digestion but also helps you feel full, preventing the temptation to overeat.

Tip: Load up on veggies, whole grains, and legumes during your Christmas feast. They not only add color to your plate but also help you ‘dispose’ of waste the natural way. Also, Love Your Gut diatomaceous earth powder or capsules are a super gentle way to clean your digestive system.

Make it a white Xmas with diatomaceous earth powder.

4. Smart, Mindful Eating for the Win

Amidst the festivities, take a moment to savor each bite. Mindful eating allows you to enjoy your food and helps your body recognize when it's satisfied, preventing overindulgence.

Tip: Put down your fork between bites, engage in conversation, and truly experience the flavors of the season.

5. After-Party TLC with Detoxifying Teas

After the party is over, treat your gut to some soothing, non-caffeinated herbal teas. Peppermint and ginger teas, known for their digestive properties, can help alleviate post-indulgence discomfort. And they’ll help hydrate you too.

Tip: Wind down with a warm cup or two, or three of detoxifying tea before bedtime. Your gut will thank you in the morning. Up your daily dose of Love Your Gut diatomaceous earth. It’s a natural and super gentle cleanse and detox.

Bring diatomaceous earth as your Plus One.

Get smart this silly season…gut smart.

This Christmas, let's embark on a journey of celebration that leaves us feeling not only festive but also fantastic! By incorporating these nutritional tips, you can enjoy the holiday season without compromising your gut health. Cheers to a smart gut and a Silly Season!
